A, B and C run a 100 meters race. A beats B by 20 meters, and B beats C by 20 meters. By how much does A beat C? Assume A,B and C all run at constant speeds v_A, v_B, v_C respectively.

One Response to Distance, time and speed

  1. Kartikeya Pradhan had this to say about that:

    36 meters.

    100/v_A = 80/v_B
    100/v_B = 80/v_C
    100/v_A = x/v_C

Solve for x, comes out to be 64 meters.
